Featuring a real coal fire, the bar is a cosy place, especially on those chillier North East days. Relax and unwind after the rigours of a busy day, whether it’s after work or the retail therapy.

You’ll find a fine selection of beers, wines and spirits including our featured ‘Malts of the Month’ and regular Guest Ales.

There is Big Screen TVs which, along with most Sky channels, also offers football lovers all the European matches via Setanta and Premier Plus.

There are Quiz Nights throughout the winter months and these are very popular with the locals and hotel guests.

Bar meals and snacks are available.

Beer Gardens

During the summer months we have outside dining areas at the front and rear of the hotel. What could be better on a nice warm summer’s day than to sit in the sun and take some time over a glass of wine, an ice cold beer, tall gin & tonic or even a refreshing glass of Pimms. Bar meals can be served outside as weather conditions permit.
